They have 6" digital calipers for $5.87...
I've found you get a $6 pair of calipers from them too...
I did pick up a magnetic base and dial indicator which worked for sanity checking. Good for single use tools however.
I already have one of the six inchers now and I find that I could use the 12" at times. I've been waiting for the price to come down on them as well.
Hmm I may have to go get that cherry picker. :P

I actually use mine quite a bit. Great for lifting stuff and moving it around too.
