Cancelation of the Dead President's LAN and a change of course for BFF.
Modified By FastangLX on 1/9/2008 10:09:59 AM)

Where to begin....

After some serious deliberation and soul searching we have decided to cancel the Dead President's LAN. As a result of this deliberation BFF will no longer be putting on paid events for the foreseeable future. There are several reasons for us to come to this decision; being able to get sponsors, changing priorities for the staff, to name a few.

What does that mean for BFF and the local gaming community? BFF will be putting on garage style LANs at various staff locations: Sarge's Shop, Mullet's Pad, Fastang's abode. With that said we will be hosting a LAN at Sarge's shop on Saturday, February 16th. This will be for 30 ppl, no cost and we will have the registration setup on the front page.

BFF will still be active in the gaming community for as long as there is a gaming community to support. We will provide infrastructure to local clans and gaming groups to put on their own LANs. We will work with the organizers of those LANs to make sure their needs are met. This puts the marketing and organization of the LAN solely on the group that is putting on the LAN, but removes the issues of procuring hardware and setup. We can provide tables, switches, power management equipment, servers and expertise. The website will be modified to handle LANs of this nature, we can provide registration and other services to promote your LAN through our website. More details will be forthcoming in the future.

Another aspect we are looking to promote is the online gaming scene. We are working on hosting game servers for clans and gaming groups via dirtcheapgameservers.com and we would like to see tournaments and grudge matches being held online, possibly even starting an online gaming league. Stay tuned!

BFF would like to thank the community for making this one hell of a ride and hope you stick around for the changes to come. From all of us at BFF a great big THANKS! and FRAG ON!
